Standards for RTOs

Practice Guides must be read alongside the relevant legislation to ensure regulatory obligations are fully met.

We apply the VET Quality Framework for national consistency in registering providers, monitoring providers and enforcing provider standards.

These Standards describe a series of outcomes that regulators must achieve.

To issue qualifications and statements of attainment, you must follow the Compliance Requirements, and the Australian Qualifications Framework.

In addition to our Practice Guides, we provide a host of other resources and educative guidance to support your understanding of the 2025 Standards.

The 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (the Standards) are now in full effect.

Registrations are open for ASQA’s next engagement, a live stream Webinar on the revised Standards. It is not too late to engage with the revised Standards.

ASQA has published its full suite of finalised Practice Guides for the sector.

We have now published draft Practice Guides on Information and Transparency, Accountability, Fit and Proper Person Requirements and Credential Policy.

The revised Standards take effect on 1 July 2025 – be informed and be ready by attending one of ASQA’s newly launched workshops. The series of face to face and online workshops will allow RTOs to prepare for the revised Standards.
