Assessment stage overview—renewal application

Completeness check

ASQA conducts a completeness check of each application.

If your application is incomplete, ASQA will contact you. You will have 10 working days in which to provide all required information or supporting evidence. If you do not provide appropriate evidence within this ten-day timeframe, ASQA may reject your application.

Assessment

The accreditation assessor will conduct an evaluation of the information provided in:

  • the application form
  • the course document
  • industry letters
  • other evidence provided.

The accreditation assessor may contact you, seek advice and information from relevant external bodies for clarification, or validate evidence provided to support the application during the evaluation process.

An evaluation report documenting the findings of compliance or non-compliance with each of the standards may be prepared. These reports are not prepared if the application is found fully compliant at the initial evaluation stage.

If ASQA identifies non-compliance, you have one opportunity to rectify the non-compliance and resubmit a revised course document and/or other evidence. You must submit the rectified submission within 20 working days of the date you are notified of the non-compliance.

The resubmitted application, including the revised course document will be reassessed against the Standards for VET Accredited Courses 2012, Standards for Training Packages 2015 and the Australian Qualifications Framework.
