How does ASQA use the information received through complaints?

Reports about your personal experiences with, or observations of, providers are vital inputs to effective regulation. The information you provide contributes to ASQA’s knowledge of a provider’s behaviour and practice. You may only have partial information, but your report can still help us.

Reports about providers are an important source of information used in our risk-based regulatory approach. The information we receive can help us identify providers that may not be meeting their regulatory obligations, and to take action to investigate further where this is warranted.

We do not act directly on individual complaints. Instead, we look for patterns of behaviour and use the information that we hold to inform our decisions about where and when to take regulatory action.

ASQA publishes the outcomes of more serious regulatory activity on our website.
