You may seek to change your RTO's scope of registration by either adding new qualifications, units of competency or accredited courses.
You must submit an Application to change scope of RTO registration using asqanet—and the application must be approved by ASQA—before any changes are made to the qualifications or units of competency that you offer or deliver. ASQA will not begin to process your application until all outstanding fees, including annual registration fees, are paid in full.
As of 1 July 2014, ASQA will add equivalent training package products to your scope of registration without requiring an application or fee.
Adding products from the Training and Education Training Package
Your RTO may only add an AQF qualification or assessor skill set from the Training and Education Training Package (or its successor) to your scope if:
- held registration for at least two years continuously
- from 1 January 2016, undergone an independent validation of its assessment system, tools, processes and outcomes in accordance with the requirements contained in clause 1.25 of the Standards for RTOs 2015.
Changes to scope for CRICOS providers
Providers registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) seeking to change their scope of registration must also submit an 'Application to amend CRICOS registration' and pay the relevant fees for this application.
- See Make changes to CRICOS registration for more information.
