CHC Training Package Revisions—transition arrangements

29 September 2015

RTOs delivering qualifications from the CHC Training Package will have noted that a revised version (version 2.0) of the package was released on 6 August 2015. A number of qualifications have been revised, along with units of competency and skills sets. Many of these changes have not resulted in a change to national codes.

ASQA advises that, for students enrolled after 1 April 2015, the transition arrangements that apply are as per clause 1.26 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.

That is, where a qualification has been revised, RTOs have one year within which to complete all learners’ training and assessment and issue certification for the superseded version of the qualification, or to transfer students into the replacement version.

The same applies to skills sets and units of competency.

RTOs may notice that some skills sets and/or units of competency have dropped off their training.gov.au implicit scope as a result of changes to qualifications. Please note that this does not affect the ability of the RTO to apply the relevant transition arrangements as per clause 1.26.
