Public consultation now open: ASQA fees and charges 2026-27

28 January 2026

ASQA has released its draft Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS) 2026-27 for public consultation.

The updated CRIS was developed after ASQA reviewed its cost recovery model in line with the Australian Government Cost Recovery Policy to incorporate significant regulatory reform outcomes, new functions and improved regulatory activities and efficiencies since becoming a full cost recovery agency in July 2022.

A key focus of the review is to make our cost recovery model simpler and more transparent, as well as ensuring all regulatory functions and activities are accurately captured and costed.

We are keen to hear stakeholder views - such as barriers to, or unintended consequences of these changes for both providers and the broader Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. Feedback can be provided via the online form and consultation closes on 27 February 2026.

The revised fees and charges and final Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS) will take effect from 1 July 2026. More information on the review is available in ASQA's consultation paper on our website.
