Extended transition period: AHC qualifications - AHC21316, AHC21416, AHC32916, AHC33016, AHC33116

ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in Clause 1.26(a) of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015. ASQA will only consider applications for a longer transition period where it can be demonstrated that there would be genuine disadvantage to a cohort of learners if such an extension was not approved.

ASQA has approved an extended transition period for the qualifications listed below.

Qualifications

  • AHC21316 Certificate II in Shearing
  • AHC21416 Certificate II in Wool Handling
  • AHC32916 Certificate III in Shearing
  • AHC33016 Certificate III in Wool Clip Preparation
  • AHC33116 Certificate III in Advanced Wool Handling

Existing transition period

Standard 12-month transition period from 10 February 2025 until 10 February 2026.

Extended transition conditions

  • The approved extended transition period is from 11 February 2026 until 10 February 2027.
  • The extended transition period only applies to continuing students who commence formal training and/or assessment in the training products on or before 10 February 2026.
  • All students must either complete and receive certification or be transferred to replacement courses by the new transition end date.
  • The extended transition period applies to all RTOs with this qualification on scope. The qualification will remain on RTOs’ scope of registration until the end of the extended transition period.

This request was submitted to ASQA by Skills Insight, the Jobs and Skills Council with oversight of the training products. ASQA also consulted with the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia.
