Provider planner: key dates and obligations
Our RTO and ESOS planners help you identify key dates and stay on top of your reporting obligations to remain compliant. Click the links to download a planner with more information on each of the obligations or check your obligations in the accordion lists below.
This list is provided as a reminder of important obligations RTOs must meet in 2026.
Note: RTOs need to meet other obligations and deadlines to comply with the requirements of ongoing registration in 2026.
- Do you know your asqanet login details? If you can’t login to www.asqanet.gov.au, please visit our website for assistance
- Make sure your Chief Executive Officer’s email address and mobile number are up to date in the asqanet portal so that they can receive important notices and information from ASQA.
- Every RTO must report its Total VET Activity AVETMISS data for 2025 to NCVER by 28 February 2026 - www.avs.ncver.edu.au/avs/
- If your RTO did not deliver any nationally accredited training during 2025, you will need to provide a nil return directly to NCVER
- Failure to report on time can lead to penalties.
- Submit your Annual Declaration on Compliance in March
- Your CEO will receive an email with their unique ADC link on 3 March 2026
- Submissions close 31 March 2026.

- Your Annual Registration Charge (ARC) is calculated at the start of the financial year
- Remember your scope items determine your ARC. Review your scope and submit any scope removal applications by 15 June 2026. This will ensure your applications are processed in time for accurate invoicing on 1 July 2026.
- Submit your 2025 quality indicator data using the Quality Indicator webform. The form will be open from January and close on 30 June 2026.
- Pay your ARC invoice by 31 July 2026.
- Keep your registration up to date by checking when it expires at www.asqanet.asqa.gov.au or www.training.gov.au
- Renewal applications open 12 months prior to registration expiry and close 90 days before expiry. Late applications may not be accepted.
ESOS annual obligations
This list is provided as a reminder only. ESOS providers need to meet other obligations and deadlines to comply with the requirements of ongoing registration in 2026.
Review information about your organisation at www.cricos.education.gov.au/.
If the information is not accurate, you can make changes via www.asqanet.asqa.gov.au.
Notify ASQA within 10 business days of any new or changed ownership or control arrangements between your provider and education agents.

A provider that does not deliver a CRICOS registered course at a registered onshore location to an overseas student within a 12-month period from1 January 2026, will have its CRICOS registration cancelled for all course in all locations.

Pay your Tuition Protection Service (TPS) levy. The TPS Director will give you a written notice setting out the amount of your levy and the due date for payment.

Pay your CARC to the Department of education by late March 2026. This charge is additional to the Annual Registration Charge payable to ASQA.
Pay your ASQA Annual Registration Charge (ELICOS-only providers). This charge is additional to the CRICOS Annual Registration Charge (CARC) payable to the Department of Education.
Check when your registration expires at www.asqanet.asqa.gov.au or www.prisms.education.gov.au/Logon/Logon.aspx.
