RTO reporting requirements
There are 3 key reporting requirements for RTOs each year.
Total VET Activity AVETMISS data
Report Total VET Activity (TVA) AVETMISS data to NCVER by 28 February each year even if no training was provided. The data you need to report is for the previous calendar year.
Reporting this data is a condition of your registration.
TVA data provides reliable insights about delivery, student participation and sector performance, so is very important to our sector and for your own continuous improvement.
If you need assistance submitting your TVA data, contact NCVER at email@example.com.
Annual declaration on compliance
Submit your annual declaration on compliance by 31 March each year.
We will email you the submission link in February each year.
Completing the declaration will help you in your practice of self-assurance, supporting your training delivery and improving outcomes for students.
We use the information received through annual declarations to help identify systemic risks to the quality of VET delivery and to ensure we hold correct information about each RTO’s operations.
Quality indicator data
Submit your quality Indicator data by 30 June each year.
The data you need to report is for the previous calendar year.
This data feeds into national quality benchmarking and is useful to support your training organisation’s self-assurance and continuous improvement.

Annual registration charge
You will receive your ASQA annual registration charge invoice in July each year. Make sure you pay within 30 days.
ESOS providers also need to pay an annual registration charge to the Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE).
