Begin preparation for your CRICOS application by reading our application guide:

While the information in these pages gives you an overview of the application process, the application guide will help you understand what is involved in becoming a CRICOS provider, and the commitments you will be undertaking. It also provides more specific information on the application process and documents discussed below.

Documents required for your CRICOS application

No matter whether you are applying for CRICOS registration to deliver VET courses or ELICOS courses, there are key documents you will need to include as part of your 'Application for initial CRICOS registration' in asqanet:

  • a Financial viability risk assessment tool
  • a Fit and proper person requirements declaration for each relevant person
  • the relevant self-assessment forms.

Financial viability risk assessment tool

The point of this tool is to show that your organisation has the financial resources to both provide high quality training to overseas students and run a viable business. You must prepare this document with the assistance of an independent, qualified accountant when preparing your document.

All applicants must submit their financial information using our financial viability risk assessment tool. This information includes your financial history and projections.

Fit and proper person requirements declaration

We require submission of a Fit and proper person requirements declaration for all owners and key people associated with your organisation. What constitutes ‘fit and proper’, and who is subject to a disclosure, are laid out in the Fit and Proper Person Requirements 2011.

Self-assessment forms

You will need to complete a self-assessment form (or forms), based on what your registration will cover.

The self-assessment demonstrates to us that your organisation is ready to:

  • deliver training and assessment
  • manage the recruitment, enrolment and support of students.

The self-assessment also tests your operational readiness against relevant legislation. You will need to provide evidence to support the answers you provide in the document.
