Stage 4—Application assessment
Initial accreditation applications undergo a rigorous assessment to ensure the course complies with the:
- Standards for VET Accredited Courses 2012
- Standards for Training Packages 2015
- Australian Qualifications Framework.
We evaluate all applications under the requirements of the Standards for VET Regulators 2015. These requirements focus on:
- national consistency
- client service
- responsive management systems.
We finalise initial accreditation applications in line with our service standards.
Assessment stage overview—initial accreditation
ASQA conducts an initial completeness check of each application.
We will notify you if your application is found to be incomplete. You will have ten working days from this notification to provide all required information or supporting evidence. If you do not provide the necessary evidence within this 10-day time frame, we may reject your application.
The accreditation assessor conduct an evaluation of the information provided in:
- your application form
- your course document
- industry letters
- other supporting evidence you provided.
The accreditation assessor may contact you, seek advice and information from relevant external bodies for clarification, or confirm evidence provided to support the application during the evaluation process.
The assessor may also prepare an evaluation report documenting the findings of compliance or non-compliance against each of the standards.
We will not prepare a report if we find your application to be compliant at the initial evaluation stage.
If we identify non-compliance, you will have one opportunity to rectify the issue/s and submit a revised course document and accompanying evidence. You must provide the rectified submission within 20 working days of the date you are notified of the non-compliance.
The resubmitted application, including the revised course document, will be reassessed against the Standards for VET Accredited Courses 2012, Standards for Training Packages 2015 and the Australian Qualifications Framework.
