The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) has welcomed the signing of a Letter of Intent with India’s National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET), marking an important step in strengthening collaboration between the two countries’ vocational education and training (VET) sectors.
This was a key priority following the Australia India Education and Skills Council (AIESC) meeting in December 2025. It reflects the shared commitment of ASQA and NCVET to promote mutual understanding, promote excellence in skills development and support the mobility and recognition of skills and qualifications across both countries.
This Letter of Intent will support the engagement between ASQA and NCVET on areas of mutual interest including regulatory practice, quality assurance, capability development and strengthening VET systems.
ASQA will also facilitate the engagement of relevant stakeholders to explore cooperation relating to mutual recognition and benchmarking of qualifications, digital credentialing mechanisms, alignment of occupational standards and exchange of insights into labour market trends.
ASQA looks forward to working closely with NCVET to advance shared objectives and contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality vocational education and training in both countries.
