The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the national regulator for the vocational education and training (VET) sector in Australia, works to ensure quality vocational education and training (VET) so that students, industry, governments and the community have confidence in the integrity of national qualifications issued by training providers.

ASQA is currently undertaking an ongoing program of regulatory actions against non-genuine and bad-faith providers following a series of intensive compliance investigations.

To ensure the integrity of the VET sector and to protect the public, ASQA is cancelling the registration of critically non-compliant providers. Where these providers have been found to have issued qualifications without the appropriate training or assessment, ASQA is pursuing regulatory action to cancel qualifications and/or statements of attainment issued by those providers.

ASQA continues to work collaboratively with other government agencies and state and territory governments and regulators in relation to the impact of these actions and other qualification cancellation decisions on affected individuals, as well as any affected workplaces.

ASQA’s ongoing priority areas for the 2025-26 financial year include:

  • increased threat from non-genuine providers and bad-faith operators
  • marketing, recruitment and delivery of international education
  • academic integrity
  • inadequate or fraudulent recognition of prior learning
  • shortened course duration
  • student work placement.

ASQA is committed to lifting quality and integrity across the VET sector, and the integrity of our qualifications is a primary focus. There is no place for any provider who seeks to undermine the sector or exploit students.
