If you want to stop operating as a registered training organisation (RTO) and/or withdraw your ESOS registration, you will need to apply to ASQA to withdraw your registration.
Until ASQA has approved your application, you remain registered. Until your withdrawal application is approved:
- your organisation will remain registered as a VET provider and/or as a ESOS provider.
- the legal requirements under the relevant legislation continue to apply to your organisation
How to withdraw your registration
To withdraw your registration, you will need to use the Application to withdraw RTO registration process in asqanet. You must include all requested information and attachments for us to assess your application.
- You will be required to explain the arrangements you have made for the completion or transfer of any current students.
- There are no fees for applying to withdraw your VET/ESOS registration.
- You will need to submit a separate application for each active registration, both VET and ESOS.
Outcome of your withdrawal application
If we approve your application
- We will tell you our decision in writing
- We will tell you the date that your registration withdrawal takes effect
- We will make any changes needed to training.gov.au as a result of our decision
- We will make any changes needed to the National Register (training.gov.au) as a result of our decision.
If we reject your application

- We will give the reasons for our decision.
If you disagree with our decision - RTO registration only
A decision to not allow an NVR registered training organisation to withdraw its registration is a reviewable decision under Section 42 under the NVR Act.
