ASQA’s Audit and Risk Committee was established in accordance with the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014. The Charter documents the purpose, structure, roles and responsibilities of the committee members.

This regulatory practice guide outlines our monitoring activities and how we determine the appropriate regulatory response where non-compliance has been identified in a performance assessment (audit).

ASQA’s Risk Management Framework is a key component of our transformational journey, in line with the International Standard on Risk, ISO 3100:2018. 

ASQA has implemented a structured and coordinated assurance approach, with assurance activities integrated across the agency. Assurance is a fundamental component of our risk management approach, and outcomes of our assurance activities will continue to drive continuous improvement within ASQA.

This regulatory practice guide outlines how we collect and analyse evidence to gain deeper insights into provider performance, with a strong emphasis on the interplay between practice, systems, and continuous improvement.

In 2015, ASQA piloted an offshore performance assessment to evaluate VET quality, test its regulatory approach, and inform an effective offshore strategy.
