ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in Section 14 of the National Vocational Education and Training Regulator (Compliance Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations and Fit and Proper Person Requirements) Instrument 2025.

ASQA has approved an extended transition period for the training product listed below.

Training product

AMP20316 Certificate II in Meat Processing (Abattoir)

Existing transition period

Standard 12-month transition period from 1 February 2026 to 1 February 2027.

Extended transition conditions

  • The enrol-by-date for new enrolments has been extended from 1 February 2027 until 1 February 2028.
  • Students enrolled in the training product by 1 February 2028 must complete training and assessment and be issued AQF certification documentation in a timely manner.
  • If it is not possible to complete students in a timely manner, they should be transferred to the replacement training product.
  • The extended transition period applies to all RTOs with this qualification on scope.

This request was submitted to ASQA by Skills Insight, the Jobs and Skills Council with oversight of the training product. ASQA also consulted with the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority.
