ASQA has developed Practice Guides to support providers’ understanding of our regulatory expectations, including those related to the 2025 Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), which came into effect on 1 July 2025.
The Practice Guides are not prescriptive and include:
- examples of actions providers might wish to consider and other relevant factors for demonstrating compliance with the 2025 Standards
- examples of known risks to quality outcomes
- self-assurance questions for providers to consider when measuring their performance against the 2025 Standards
- good practice case studies that illustrate compliant provider processes and practices
- responses to frequently asked questions
Practice Guides must be read alongside the relevant legislation to ensure regulatory obligations are fully met. Note, terms defined under legislation are emphasised in the practice guides to clearly show which terms have a specific meaning that should be read and understood.
Providers should also consider the policy intention of the 2025 Standards, available on the DEWR website.
