Using external service providers to assist in completing a Declaration on Compliance

10 February 2017

ASQA recently communicated with all of the registered training organisations (RTOs) it regulates about their obligation to provide an annual declaration on their compliance with the Standards for Registered Training Organisation (RTOs) 2015.

ASQA has been made aware that there are companies contacting RTOs offering to conduct an assessment of the provider’s compliance to enable completion of the declaration. Such services are offered on a fee-for-service basis.

It is not ASQA’s expectation that RTOs engage consultancy services to comply with the annual declaration obligations and ASQA does not endorse any such services. An RTO may of course choose to use the services of external consultants if it wishes.

It remains at all times the responsibility of the RTO to make the declaration and for it to be satisfied as to the accuracy of the declaration. It cannot delegate that responsibility.

More information about the declaration is available here.
