To help providers understand their obligations, ASQA has released a new video on its YouTube channel: Registered training organisations’ reporting requirements.
Frequently asked questions—understanding your data provision requirements
Providers must report on the following three indicators about their 2013 operations:
- Learner engagement (learner engagement and competency development): the source of data to measure this indicator is a survey of students undertaken by an RTO using the Learner Questionnaire
- Employer satisfaction (competency development, and training and assessment quality): the source of data to measure this indicator is a survey of employers undertaken by an RTO using the Employer Questionnaire
- Competency completion: the source of data to measure this indicator is an RTO’s student enrolment and completion record.
Providers must report on the learner engagement and employer satisfaction indicators using the ASQA Quality Indicator annual summary report (DOC 181kb).
Completed reports must be submitted to qidata [at] asqa.gov.au by 30 June 2014.
Providers can also use the SMART system to report on the learner engagement and employer satisfaction, but should be aware that the Australian Centre for Educational Research (ACER) no longer provides support services for the system.
The SMART system generates a report which you must email to qidata [at] asqa.gov.au by 30 June 2014.
Providers must use the Competency Completion Online System (CCOS) to report competency completion data.
Completed reports must be submitted by 30 June 2014.
Enterprise RTOs must include employer satisfaction survey data in their 2014 data submission.
The Data Provision Requirements 2012 requires that providers registered with ASQA collect quality indicator data, and provide ASQA with an annual summary report on the quality indicators.
Failure to do this in full and on time is a breach of a provider’s conditions of registration.
I have claimed an exemption or grace period under the National VET Provider Collection Data Requirements Policy— how does this affect the requirement to submit quality indicator data?
Quality indicator data reporting is different to and required irrespective of any exemption or grace period claim submitted from reporting delivery activity data under the National VET Provider Collection Data Requirements Policy.
