Diversity at ASQA
ASQA values the diverse experiences and contributions our employees bring to our workplace. Acknowledging and celebrating their diverse abilities and backgrounds helps to create an inclusive and productive environment. We believe that embracing diversity enables us to build a positive culture and provide a better service to all of our stakeholders.
ASQA’s Diversity program is supported by:
ASQA Reconciliation Action Plan
In November 2020, ASQA released its inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan 2020-2022 (RAP). A RAP provides a structured, nationally recognised model for ASQA to formalise our commitment to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians. This RAP enhances our ability to make valuable contributions to reconciliation in Australia to foster a workforce that better reflects the diversity of the Australian community.
The unique artwork on our RAP has been inspired by ASQA’s journey, and was designed by De Greer-Yindimincarlie, a Wiradjuri woman from central western New South Wales, who celebrates her heritage through her design business, Yindi Artz.
ASQA Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2019–2022
ASQA’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy 2019-2022 identifies our key priorities and the actions ASQA will take to embed a culture of diversity and inclusion. The Strategy demonstrates our commitment to cultivating a diverse workforce and encourages embracing diversity to provide better service to all our stakeholders.
Our senior managers drive ASQA’s commitment to diversity and inclusion and from this group we have appointed our first Diversity Champion. The role of the Diversity Champion promotes the development of diversity and inclusion initiatives and strategies, and supports an inclusive work culture across ASQA as the chair of the Diversity Working Group.
Diversity Working Group
ASQA’s Diversity Working Group was established in accordance with the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy with the purpose of empowering employees from all areas of our business to take ownership of diversity and inclusion initiatives and to support the delivery of actions identified in the Strategy.
