Manage an accredited course
Throughout the duration of a course’s accreditation, the owner of an accredited course has ongoing obligations to comply with the Standards for VET Accredited Courses 2011 (if accredited with ASQA) or the
AQTF Standards for Accredited Courses (if accredited with ASQA as a delegate of the Queensland Training and Employment Recognition Council), and to keep ASQA informed of changes to the organisation or course.
Update your details
If you are the owner or part-owner of a current course accredited or regulated by ASQA and your contact details have changed, please email accreditation@asqa.gov.au.
Provide your full name, the code and name of the course(s) that you own, and all your current contact details.
Change of accredited course ownership
If you are the owner of a current course accredited or regulated by ASQA and you have sold, transferred or otherwise assigned the ownership of the course to another person or body, please submit a 'Notification of change to accredited course ownership' to accreditation@asqa.gov.au.
Note that both the current course owner/s and the new course owner/s need to sign this form. ASQA will write to you and the new course owner/s to confirm the advice has been actioned, usually within 20 working days of receiving a complete notification.
Course owner obligations
The obligations of a course owner are detailed in the Standards for VET Accredited Courses and the AQTF Standards for Accredited Courses.
Ongoing monitoring and evaluation
The course is to be monitored and evaluated in accordance with the process outlined in the accredited course document.
The course owner is required to keep records of monitoring and evaluation activities.
Amendments to a course
Amendments may be required for various reasons, such as changes to the accreditation status of the course, or factors revealed through monitoring and evaluation.
To amend a course, an 'Application to amend an accredited course' must be submitted to ASQA for approval.
The application must be supported with information that allows ASQA to confirm that the course will remain current and relevant and continue to comply with the standards for accreditation.
Where units of competency have been superseded, an application for amendment must be made within 12 months.
Where significant changes are proposed, a course owner may be required to apply for initial accreditation of the course.
Following the approval of any amendment(s) to the course, RTOs that are licensed and/or have permission to deliver the course must be advised of the changes.
Other obligations
Statements made about an accredited course must be accurate and factual.
As part of ASQA's aim for continuous improvement in the quality of the VET sector, your course(s) may be subject to evaluation from time to time.
