Course accreditation fees

Fees apply to the following accreditation activities:

  • course accreditation (initial)
  • renewal of accreditation
  • amendment of an accredited course
  • cancellation of the accreditation of a course.

Cancellation of the accreditation of a course For each cancellation requested by the course owner $120 This fee will commence from 1/1/2013.  

Notes on fees

  1. Fees charged by ASQA are not subject to GST.
  2. The variable commencement dates of fees relate to the timing of the transition of regulatory powers from the states to ASQA.
  3. RTOs and course owners now regulated by ASQA will pay to ASQA all fees owing from their state or territory registration or accreditation. Fees for any new applications (e.g. for renewal of registration or a change of scope of registration) are payable to ASQA.
  4. Applicants may request from ASQA a refund of monies if the service for which the fee has been charged has not been provided. Once an ASQA assessment of an application has commenced, no refund of that component of a fee will be made.
  5. A fee is not refundable if an application is evaluated but rejected by ASQA.
  6. Fees are subject to increases on 1 July annually in line with the CPI.

Applying to ASQA as a delegate of the Qld Training and Employment Recognition council

The following applications, if made to ASQA as delegate for the Queensland Training and Employment Recognition Council (TERC), attract a fee:

  • Course accreditation (initial)
  • Amendment of an accredited course
  • Renewal of accreditation

Fees are prescribed in the Vocational Education, Training and Employment Regulation 2000 (Qld) and are subject to annual review in line with the Consumer Price Index and are adjusted at the commencement of each financial year.

Applications and fees as at 1 July 2011

Application for course accreditation (initial):

  • For a course leading to a qualification
    - for each course leading to a lower qualification than, and that is in the same course structure as, an associated higher qualification course for which accreditation is being applied at the same time$355.85
    - for any other course $1220.75
  • For a course leading to a statement of attainment $732.50
